Summer @ IITB 09

It has been just under an year when I last wrote, but then it had to be sometime. So, here's something I've had been through this summer @ IITB.

Here it goes "

Okey, first things first. FOOD. When I came back to IITB, my first concern was to fill up my stomach. With the current state-of-(f)art messes that we are bestowed upon, I surely did not wanted to eat chole-bhatoore for some 41st consecutive thursday of my life. Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything was given to me by hotel-13 mess. One of the rare entities in this cosmos, which gives you all three features: Cheap, Beautiful and Durable. I had my part for the first month of stay with awesome food. More on this later, from my second month, when I did not join 13.

Days shall pass and so they did. With LAN on IITB, I had my chance for the first time to begin my HIMYM journey and, bang : directly to the fourth season. , finished in the first month. Besides, clearly visible form my DC upload slots, people here were the same. With my evenings in the wonderful grounds that we have, my day used to finished pretty well, with an IPL match. My power to make any team loose from howsoever good condition, literally got me killed from the students I was working with.

Well, work also had to be done. On a serious note, my my professor, Mr X1 ( X2 shall be called the second one, under whom I worked next month), was pretty helpful and guided us well. That is very important aspect for a second year'ite as one does not know the subject very well. For me, the coding part was essential, and we were very well guided by our Professor. In spite of all the things that you can enjoy @ IITB, work when-it-is-time-to-work is a must. It is necessary as well as important for oneself to learn as much as possible at this period. Make sure you do not goof-up this part and also that you are refreshed whenever you work.

A month passed by in no time. With a lot of new lessons on my side now, I surely wanted to go with the same spirits into the next month. But then, who says life's fair.

July : With morning bells now ringing 3 hours later than the first month, the aim of my life was to hunt for food. My first hunger quench was fulfilled by a glass of juice at BJC or by lunch at Gullu. Every now and then a thought came : "Aaj woah bana hoga 13 mien ... kaash ... ". But then I was too lazy to go to thirteen. And this time, weekends were weekends. Two awesome trips to South Bombay and Elephanta Caves( www.picasaweb.google.com/pranjal.bordia :) ) were truly great experiences. The best part were the monkeys who'd snatch your coke from you, very skillfully open it the proper way and drink like Aamir " Sir utha ke piyo ".

DOTA(Did I mention earlier?) and HIMYM continued. Besides, having an AC room to work now, we(me and other 2 with me) also did some crazy stuff like cook in somebodys(can't reveal) home, drink milk from the packed polythene bag, shouting at Tum-Tum drivers for their flawless driving and also on "brian-lara"_cricket_paying_people in IITB Cash section. ( One of my friends even went with a girl for shopping. Ended up nodding head for next 1 hour :P ).

When I returned from a five day trip to Hamipur-Shimla-Delhi Gullu Cafeteria was blooming in its full glory. More FOOD options :) . Anyway, as work finished abruptly( don't ask why) I preponed my return tickets and left for my home after a really wonderful summer @ IITB.

chhole bhatoore is Wednesday lunch!

Thursday is Namkeen Poori, Lashun ki chutney and Raajma

Ask ME

When you eat the same thing once every seven days for 2 years, it kinda sinks in.
